Day 11: Your Family

*Sigh* I'm waaaay behind on my writing, but like I said at the beginning of this 30-Day Blog thing, I knew it really would be a challenge for me.  There's so much living to do.  I'm working out and getting some important things done around the house.  But without further delay, today's topic is My Family.  More after the pic...

My immediate family is my husband Charles (handsome fellow on the left).  We're almost at nine years of marriage.  Hallelujah!   We've yet to have children, but we're believing God for a miracle and we also plan to adopt.  That's a story for another post.  That's me in the purple.  I had just chopped of my huge fro a few months prior.  I was happy at the time, but now I wish I had just let it grow.  I digress.  My brother Aaron is next to me, then Mom, Dad, and sister Amy.  Mom and Amy are natural now, by the way.  Sis has lovely locs and Mom has the most adorable TWA.  Dad and Aaron are natural too... haaaaa.  My extended family is huge and spread out all over the country.  And then there are the in-laws who are spread out all over the world.  My husband's family has roots in Liberia, and he can actually trace his lineage back to Harriet Tubman.  We really hope to go to Liberia together one day.

My definition of family is broadened by the relationships God provided through my church home.  The love and fellowship of the saints is a beautiful thing and I am thankful for them.  I've got roughly 120 sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers, and kids.  We pray, praise, serve, laugh, dance, learn and love together.  We take care of each other.  I just can't say enough good things about it.
